Spring Break 2009

Nick and I headed down to Charlotte, North Carolina after my finals and Nick's week in the pre-school. It was a nice relaxing drive, and trip all together. We arrived at Dan and Jenny's beautiful home on Friday night where we ate pizza and enjoyed a relaxing evening. Jenny worked in the morning and afternoon on Saturday while the boys and I went grocery shopping. We (Nick, Dan, thier dog Bauer, and I) later met up with Jenny in a nice park where we were going to take a walk. Just as we were ready to start our walk, Nick shut his keys in the trunk, and we had to call AAA to come get them out. Everything worked out, we just took a shorter walk than planned. The evening was very relaxing as Jenny grilled burgers and taught me how to make salsa while the boys split cedar wood for a nice fire. Sunday morning we attended church and then stopped by the new IKEA in Charlotte on the way home. Nick and I had never been there, and we both enjoyed the experience! Sunday night Nick and I joined in on the newlywed Bible study that Dan and Jenny lead. We didn't fit the title, but we did not feel out of place. Both Dan and Jenny worked on Monday, so Nick and I went shopping in the morning, and then took over the house and Bauer in the afternoon. Nick washed his car in the driveway as I soaked up the sun, read, and entertained Bauer. Dan came home in the evening and we drove to Macaroni Grill to meet Jenny for dinner. We had one last fire that night, and then Nick and I headed home on Tuesday morning. The time flew by so fast.
